Overview
As a physician scientist, my goal is to connect the bench to the bedside. My bench research focuses on the immune response to steatosis and cell death in ischemia reperfusion injury of the fatty liver. This closely links to my clinical interests in immune response in autoimmune hepatitis and outcomes of liver transplantation. I am also interested in the area of adolescent post-transplant care and transition.
Academic Appointment

Research
Focus
- My research interest lies in understanding the basic mechanisms of steatosis in the liver. I am interested in the GLP- 1 receptor and its role in hepatic steatosis, apoptosis and autophagy in the setting of ischemia reperfusion injury. Immune mechanism of steatosis is an evolving area of my laboratory. I am also interested in the area of adolescent post-transplant care and transition and solid organ donations.
