Mingyao Zhu
Overview
Mingyao Zhu, PhD, DABR, is an Assistant Professor of Medical Physics in the Department of Radiation Oncology. As a medical physicist at Emory Proton Therapy Center, Dr. Zhu is actively involved with proton treatment planning, treatment machine commissioning and quality assurance, IMPT treatment planning system commissioning, and dosimetrist training.
Prior to joining Emory in 2020, Dr. Zhu was a medical physicist at Maryland Proton Treatment Center and served as interim director of proton physics in the Department of Radiation Oncology at University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Zhu holds professional memberships with American Society for Radiation Oncology and American Association of Physicists in Medicine.
Dr. Zhu received her BS in applied physics from Nankai University in Tianjin, China. She earned her PhD and her MS in Physics from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. She completed her CAMPEP accredited medical physics residency at Harvard Medical Physics Residency Program in Boston Massachusetts.
