Manu Sancheti
Overview
Dr. Sancheti received his MD from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 2006, after which he did a general surgery residency at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City from 2006-2011. He joined our faculty after completing his cardiothoracic surgery residency on a general thoracic track at Emory.
Dr. Sancheti's clinical specialties are thoracic oncology, minimally invasive thoracic surgery, esophageal surgery, and lung transplantation, and he is part of a physician team that provides a full range of thoracic procedures, including the most current minimally invasive approaches such as video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) and robotic lobectomy.
Dr. Sancheti is a member of the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. His research interests are thoracic surgical minimally invasive techniques, outcomes in thoracic oncology, and cost and quality improvements in thoracic surgical services. In particular, he has led and participated in several studies of patient outcomes following lung cancer surgery.
As the medical director of the team that created the Emory CSAT app Surgical Anatomy of the Lung, Dr. Sancheti was heavily involved in developing an interactive, comprehensive, and multifunctional 3D tool for preoperative planning, education, and physician-to-patient communication.
