Focus
- My research focus is neuronal communication in the mammalian CNS, particularly the function of gray matter axons, because their action in health and disease is poorly understood. We use electrical and visualization methods to record axonal functions, including their transmitter release, under normal and manipulated circumstances. The goal is to find how the axons cope with physical and biochemical challenges, how damage may occur, and how that damage may be prevented.
