Overview
Dr. Lipowska has been working in the field of nuclear medicine research since 1993. Her research interests involve the development of novel Tc-99m and F-18 radiotracers to image the kidney and monitor renal function. Dr. Lipowskas focus has recently expanded to include other Tc-99m and multimodality probes (MR, optical) for imaging pancreatic, breast, ovarian and parathyroid cancers, for which she collaborates closely with other members of Emory University School of Medicine.

Research
Focus
- Synthesis and evaluation of a variety of Tc-99m renal tubular agents in order to find a superior Tc-99m labeled renal tubular transporting imaging agent that will allowed an accurate, reproducible, cost-effective, and rapid measurement of effective renal plasma flow (ERPF). This focus has recently expanded to include other Tc-99m tracers and targeted contrast agents (MR, optical) for imaging pancreatic and breast cancers as well as parathyroid tumors.
