Drew Davis
Overview
M. Andrew Davis, MD ("Drew"), received his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine in 2006. He completed his general surgical residency at Emory University in 2011, later returning to Emory for his trauma surgery and surgical critical care fellowships, completed at Grady Memorial Hospital in 2014 and 2015, respectively. He then moved to Houston to work for Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) as a trauma surgeon/intensivist at Ben Taub Hospital, one of only two Level 1 trauma centers in that city and a leading institution in trauma and critical care medicine.
After nearly six years of building his academic practice at BCM, Dr. Davis returned to his training home at Grady in 2021. In addition to his duties as a trauma surgeon and working to develop quality improvement projects within the trauma program, he serve s as director of perioperative medical services at the hospital. His primary clinical focus is trauma and acute care surgery, with a particular interest in damage control surgery, trauma resuscitation, emergency general surgery, and quality improvement in these areas.
