Overview
Dr. Prizer is a licensed clinical social worker with a masters degree in social work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a doctoral degree in public health from the University of Georgia. Her research focuses on using mixed methodology designs to examine chronic disease management in aging, palliative and end-of-life care and decision-making, and the effectiveness of integrative care models for Parkinsons disease. She also works clinically as the social worker for the VAs GRECC Connect project, which serves older rural Veterans through telehealth.
Dr. Prizer co-teaches Health in Aging in the Division of Physical Therapy at Emory University, and she is the Instructor for Death, Dying, and Loss at the Institute of Gerontology at Georgia State University. She has been a member of the Georgia POLST Collaborative as well as of the Georgia Palliative Care Council since 2013.
