Lucas F. B. Horta, MD
Neuroimmunologist
Dr. Horta was born and raised in Brazil and earned his medical degree from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. He moved to the United States to pursue postgraduate medical training in Boston, MA, where he completed his neurology residency at Boston Medical Center, serving as chief resident in his fourth year. He then completed a fellowship in General and Autoimmune Neurology (AGAIN) at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH).
Dr. Horta specializes in autoimmune neurological diseases affecting both the central and peripheral nervous systems, with a particular focus on Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy-related inflammation (CAAri) and spinal cord pathologies. His clinical and research interests include the role of spinal cord involvement in autoimmune neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Neurosarcoidosis, Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder, and MOG-antibody-associated disease.
