Overview
Dr. Laura Ramirez-Caban is an Assistant Professor with a specialty in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Emory University Hospital.
Originally from Puerto Rico, she moved to Philadelphia where she obtained her undergraduate degree from Drexel University, and medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Emory University in Atlanta and went on to complete a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Cleveland Clinic Florida. She was in private practice in Florida for 1 year where she gained significant exposure in Minimally Invasive techniques. She has since transitioned to Academic Medicine where she continues her passions of teaching minimally invasive surgical techniques to the next generation of doctors.
Her interests include management of abnormal uterine bleeding, fibroids, adenomyosis, endometriosis, and pelvic pain. She specializes in advanced laparoscopic, robotic, and hysteroscopic surgery.
She is an advocate for womens health through her involvement in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and an active mentor for underrepresented minority students through the National Hispanic Medical Association.
