Research

Focus

  • My research is focused on signaling pathway and mechanisms of drug-resistance in pediatric cancers. One area of this work involves the effects of MDM2/XIAP interaction in ALL and neuroblastoma. In ALL, we have found that resistance to certain DNA damaging agents (e.g. anthracyclines) is associated with high levels of XIAP regulated by MDM2. In studies of neuroblastoma, we have detected that MYCN and VEGF are regulated by MDM2.
