Kim House MD
Overview
Dr. House is an assistant professor in the Emory University Department of Medicine, Division of General Medicine and Geriatrics. She graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology (BS) and received her MD from the Mercer University School of Medicine. Dr. House completed her residency in internal medicine and geriatrics fellowship at Emory University. Dr. House is board-certified in geriatrics, and she is a certified medical director. She has been appointed medical director of the Atlanta VA Medical Center's Community Living Center, acting medical director of the VA Home-Based Primary and Palliative Care program, clinical director of Atlanta Wound Care Clinic at the VA, and provides medical oversight for the contract nursing home program.
Dr. House's research focus includes telephone medicine, long-term care administration, and wound care prevention and treatment.
Her clinical practice is based at the Atlanta VA Medical Center.
Dr. House teaches rotating Emory University residents and fellows about wound care in the nursing home environment and precepts geriatric medicine fellows in Long-Term Care Rounds and core curriculum. She is also a lecturer for the Emory University Physician Assistant Program.
Dr. House is a chairperson for the National VA Community Living Center Medical Director Group. She is a member of the Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee for the American Medical Directors Association. She is on the Geriatrics and Extended Care Sub-council. She is also a member of the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Committee.
