Head shot of Khusrow Niazi

Overview

Dr. Niazi's research has advanced the field of interventional cardiology by focusing on peripheral vascular disease and coronary artery disease. At Emory, Dr. Niazi initiated the peripheral research program that continues to perform multiple studies, including studies for novel devices for FDA approval to help patients' circulation. Dr. Niazi is one of the few cardiologists that treats venous disease along with arterial disease. He enjoys evaluating patients from head to toes of any heart &/or vascular disease.

Research

Focus

  • My research has advanced the field of interventional cardiology and peripheral vascular disease. Prior to my affiliation with Emory, I actively researched rotational atherectomy in CAD, coronary stenting and coronary intervention in acute MI. This research led to my designs and executions of two trials for which I was the PI. I presented the data at national meetings. At Emory, I initiated the peripheral research program that continues to perform multiple studies, some initiated by myself and others as PI at Emory.
