Overview
Kanika Kalra completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree at the Lady Hardinge Medical School, New Delhi, India in 2011. She went on to complete a Cardiothoracic Research Fellowship, General Surgery Residency, and a Cardiothoracic Fellowship all here at Emory University. During her tenure, she has been actively involved in basic, translational and clinical research and was awarded the Council on Cardiovascular Surgery and Anesthesia Early Career Investigator Abstract Award by American Heart Association and the best abstract award by STS/EACTS in 2020. Her articles have been published in a number of leading journals including the Journal of American College of Cardiology, Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, and The Annals of Thoracic Surgery.
She is based primarily at Emory University Hospital Midtown with clinical focus on minimally invasive coronary revascularization and valvular heart disease.
Her lab research will focus on pathophysiology, early detection and therapies for right sided valvular lesions and right ventricular failure.

My lab focuses on pathophysiology, early detection and surgical treatment strategies of tricuspid valve disease and right ventricular failure.
