Research Interests: role of ultrasound in detecting fetal anomalies and growth abnormalities, high risk pregnancies, infectious diseases and emerging pathogens in pregnancy; HIV and perinatal outcomes; cellular signaling and activation of HIV replication; autoimmune mechanisms in peripartum cardiomyopathy; placental physiology and pathology, maternal morbidity and mortality, patient safety, quality initiatives, legislative impact on maternal and child health
