Overview

Iris Krishna, MD, MPH completed her undergraduate studies at Tulane University and obtained her Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in New Orleans, LA. She then completed her medical degree at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, LA.

Dr. Krishna completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology and fellowship training in maternal-fetal medicine at Emory University where she received awards for her clinical skills in obstetrics and her thesis research project on prenatal genetic screening. She has also been recognized by her staff and colleagues as outstanding Emory Faculty for her contributions to teaching and clinical service. As well as recognition, as Atlanta Magazine's Top Docs.

Dr. Krishna enjoys all aspects of maternal-fetal medicine including ultrasound screening, genetic screening and diagnosis, perinatal safety/quality, monitoring high-risk pregnancies and assisting in the care of women delivering with medical complications of pregnancy or fetal abnormalities. She has published articles on topics such as low fetal fraction in noninvasive prenatal screening, breast cancer in pregnancy, intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy, obesity, diabetes, and chronic hypertension. She is currently involved in research on chronic hypertension during pregnancy.

Dr. Krishna is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and is a member of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine and a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is also a member of AIUM, ISUOG, and Georgia OB/GYN Society. She is fluent in English and Spanish. Dr. Krishna's interests outside of medicine include reading, foreign travel, and exploring the food and wine scene in Atlanta. She enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and mini-labradoodle.
