Harold Simon MD, MBA
Overview
Dr. Simon is Vice Chair for Faculty for the Dept of Pediatrics and is the Marcus Professor of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. He is Chief Faculty Development Officer for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. He also has an Executive MBA from Emory's Goizueta Business School. His research interests focus around resource utilization, process & quality improvement, Injury prevention, sedation, career development and workforce. Research includes being an MPI on a CDC Concussion grant, pediatric spoke PI for the SIREN Clinical Trials Network in collaboration with the Dept of EM. Among his other administrative roles he serves as a Chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee (section #3) of Emory University's Georgia Clinical & Translational Science Alliance, Clinical Research Network and is Co-Director of the Emory Professional Leadership Enrichment and Development Program (EM-ProLEAD). He is also a School of Medicine representative on the Emory University Senate and the University Faculty Council. Nationally he served on the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Pediatric Workforce (Chair 2019-2024).

Research
Focus
- My research has primarily focused on system-wide resource utilization and efficient delivery of care. Assessing management practices through outcomes based research has been emphasized along with improved caregiver education on proper utilization of healthcare services for their children. Childhood injury prevention and trainee education have been additional focuses.
