Overview
H. Stella Shin, MD is Medical Director of General Nephrology, Medical Director of Acute Kidney Replacement Therapies, and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Emory. She a native Georgian, growing up just outside of Atlanta. She attended college at Emory University and medical school at the Medical College of Georgia (Georgia Regents University) in Augusta, GA. After completing medical school, she relocated to Columbus, Ohio for pediatric residency at Nationwide Children's Hospital and remained in Ohio for her pediatric nephrology fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
Dr. Shin has a special interest in healthcare quality improvement, with a focus on prevention of acute kidney injury. She developed the nephrotoxic medication stewardship program at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and continues to lead the effort to expand this program across our hospital system. She also maintains an interest in medical informatics and is a certified builder for Epic, our electronic medical record system.
