Hakob Davtyan
Overview
Dr. Davtyan is leading the initiation of the Emory Department of Surgery's partnership with St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA, as the medical director of the hospital's cardiothoracic surgery team. While Dr. Davtyan only joined our faculty in September 2016, he is already well acquainted with Emory, having done his cardiothoracic surgery residency and cardiothoracic surgery fellowship here under the mentorship of Robert Guyton, MD, chief of the Emory Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. Dr. Guyton will also oversee the cardiothoracic surgery service at St. Francis.
Dr. Davtyan received his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine in 1983, where he also completed his research fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery and general surgery residency. After completing his Emory training, he was an associate cardiothoracic surgeon at Foothill Surgical Associates Medical Group, Pasadena, CA, from 1992-1994, and a member and owner of Inland Cardiothoracic Surgical Associates Medical Group, Inc., in San Bernardino, beginning in 1994.
