Overview
Dr. Gautam Sreeram is a member of the Division of Cardiac Anesthesiology. His clinical expertise and research interests include transesophageal echocardiography, mechanical assist devices, and coagulation disorders. He completed a National Institutes of Health (NIH) postdoctoral research fellowship and is a past recipient of a clinical research starter grant from the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER).
Academic Appointment
- Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, Emory University School of Medicine
Education
Degrees
- MD from Emory University
- BA from Emory University
Research
Focus
- My interest is in perioperative coagulation during cardiac surgery. Bleeding remains a significant source of morbidity and mortality during cardiac surgical procedures. I am investigating adjuvant therapies to decrease transfusions requirements in patients undergoing cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass.
