Overview
Dr. Roccaro joined the Emory Department of Digestive Disease and the Emory Transplant Center in 2018, and serves as Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine, Medical Director of the Multidisciplinary Liver Tumor Clinic and as Medical Director of Living Donor Liver Transplantation. Dr. Roccaro completed his medical degree at the SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, and then completed his internship and residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. Subsequently, he completed clinical fellowships in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology at the University of Pennsylvania, while also obtaining a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology. His clinical interests include hepatocellular carcinoma, post-transplant metabolic disease, and living donor liver transplantation. His research interest is improving survival for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma following liver transplantation. Dr. Roccaro is board certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and transplant hepatology. He is an active member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD) and on the editorial board for Liver Transplantation.
