Overview

Emad Qayed, MD, MPH is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Emory University Division of Digestive Diseases. After completing medical training at the University of Jordan in Amman, Dr. Qayed finished a one-year internship at the Ministry of Health Hospitals in Amman, followed by one year of transitional medicine residency in the King Hussein Cancer Center in Amman, Jordan. He completed his medical residency and gastroenterology fellowship training at Emory University. He is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. Following graduation, he joined the faculty at Emory.
Dr. Qayed received his masters in public health (MPH) from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University.

Dr. Qayed is the section chief of gastroenterology at Grady Memorial Hospital in downtown Atlanta. He works closely with gastroenterology trainees and sees a diverse spectrum of patients with gastrointestinal and liver disorders.

Dr. Qayed performs general endoscopic procedures as well as therapeutic ERCP and enteral stenting. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Association, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. His research interests include training in gastrointestinal endoscopy, healthcare services research in pancreatic and biliary disorders, and gastrointestinal manifestations of COVID-19.
