Overview

Eugene W. Farber, PhD, ABPP, is a licensed psychologist with board certification in clinical psychology. In his role as Director of Behavioral Health Services at the Grady Ponce de Leon Center, Dr. Farber oversees an interdisciplinary behavioral health service that is integrated within an HIV primary care setting. He also serves as Training Director for the American Psychological Association accredited Internship in Health Service Psychology in the Emory University School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. His clinical work focuses on the provision of culturally responsive behavioral health intervention for underserved populations and integrative behavioral health services for those living with medical illness. His teaching activities primarily encompass the provision of training in behavioral health intervention within integrated health care settings along with teaching and supervision in the theory, research, and practice of integrative, relational psychodynamic, and experiential psychotherapies. Dr. Farber's scholarship centers on resilience factors influencing psychological adaptation to HIV disease, implementation and outcomes of HIV behavioral health services in community-based primary care settings, behavioral health pathways for reducing health disparities and promoting health equity, and frameworks and strategies for training in behavioral health disciplines.
