Emily Cartwright
Overview
Emily J. Cartwright, MD is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases. She is the Director of the Hepatitis C program at the Atlanta VA health care system and serves as a consultant to the Strategy and Implementation Unit in the Division of Viral Hepatitis at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She received her BS degree from Washington University in St. Louis and her Medical Doctorate degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency and infectious diseases fellowship at Emory University. She was an officer in the Epidemic Intelligence Service at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Her clinical and research interests focus on the treatment and prevention of chronic hepatitis C infection including in persons living with HIV. In her research, she seeks to utilize innovation in health care delivery systems to improve screening, management, and cure of patients with chronic hepatitis C and measure the long-term impact of chronic hepatitis C infection on health outcomes.
