David Alter
Overview
As The Director of Clinical Chemistry for The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine; I am an academic Clinical Pathologist board certified in both Chemical Pathology (American Board of Pathology) and Clinical Chemistry (Diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Chemistry). My goals are very simple; incorporation of my dual certifications in practice since 2000 with experience in both academic and non-academic settings towards advances in Service, Scholarship and Teaching. One of my primary goals as Clinical Chemistry Rotation Director is to prepare residents so that they are comfortable, confident and competent with clinical chemistry issues upon graduation regardless of their eventual specialty and practice type. I believe that within every pathologist lives a potential Clinical Chemist able to contribute as such, post residency. Furthermore, I hope that my passion and contributions will cause residents to consider careers in clinical pathology and clinical chemistry. @ClinChemMD
