Head shot of Daniel Kalman

Academic Appointment

  • Associate Professor with tenure, Emory University School of Medicine

Education

Degrees

  • PhD from University of California
  • BS from University of California

Research

Focus

  • (i) how the innate immune system detects and clears bacterial and viral pathogens (enteropathogenic E.coli, poxviruses, polyomaviruses, TB); (ii) how host molecules are utilized by pathogens to facilitate infection; and (iii) development of drugs to treat infections that target host molecules and will not engender development of drug resistance.
