Dimitri Cassimatis MD
Overview
Dr. Cassimatis is Director of the Coronary Care Unit at Emory University Hospital Midtown, and divides his clinical time between Midtown and Grady Memorial Hospital. He co-directs the first year medical student cardiovascular pathophysiology module at Emorys School of Medicine, and in February 2015 he became a small group advisor in the School of Medicine's Harvey Society. Before joining Emory as an assistant professor in 2010, Dr. Cassimatis spent 11 years as a physician in the United States Army. He received his MD from Harvard University and his post-graduate training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Focus
- As a fellow my research focused on myopericarditis following smallpox vaccination. I am a co-investigator at the Grady site for a clinical research study (RESCUE) comparing coronary CT angiography to stress imaging in the evaluation of patients with chest pain.
