Overview
Dr. Ritenour is currently Chief Medical Officer for Emory University Hospital, and also provides executive operational oversight for Perioperative Services, Cardiac Services, Radiology and Pharmacy in the hospital. He is the Vice-Chair of Education and Faculty Affairs and Professor in the Department of Urology at Emory University School of Medicine. He previously served as Interim Chairman for Emory Urology from 2010 to 2013. He teaches widely in both undergraduate and graduate medical education and has published multiple original and review articles in the medical literature.
As Director of the Division of Mens Health/Infertility and General Urology, he has worked to develop efficient care processes, including the use of video-assisted consents for the urologic patient. Dr. Ritenourn's clinical and research interests include erectile and ejaculatory dysfunction, prostate enlargement, and prosthetic surgery.
Dr. Ritenour attended the University of Virginia as an Echols Scholar and subsequently received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia before completing his urological surgery training at Emory University. In 2010, he served as a Fellow in the American Urological Association-Japanese Urological Association Academic Exchange Program. He was also a Fellow in the Woodruff Leadership Academy in 2005.

Research
Focus
- Primary focus includes clinical studies related to sexual dysfunction and urologic oncology. Specifically, erectile dysfunction and trials of novel advances for diagnosis and therapy of genitourinary cancers are areas of investigation. Also, preventative strategies for sexual dysfunction in the young adult population and surgical outcomes are being addressed.
