Research

Focus

  • As a physician scientist who sees patients with cognitive problems in clinic weekly, I am dedicated to advancing our understanding of the basic cellular mechanisms of aging and in neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimers disease (AD) and frontotemporal dementia. I am also motivated, being personally touched by frontotemporal dementia and having watched my grandfather slowly succumb to the indolent neurodegeneration of AD while my grandmother suffered by his side.
