Research

Focus

  • My research on cation transport and cell volume regulation in red blood cells focuses on mechanisms of sickle cell dehydration, an important aspect of sickle cell disease pathology. Recent work centers on the transcriptional regulation of transporter gene expression during erythroid differentiation and its alteration in pathological red cells.
