Cletus Arciero
Overview
A decorated U.S. Army Colonel, Dr. Cletus Arciero joined Emory after serving as Chief of General Surgery and Surgical Oncology, as well as the General Surgery Residency Program Director, at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon, Georgia. He also served as Chief of Surgery in Kuwait with the 452nd Combat Support Hospital, and twice in Iraq with the 31st Combat Support Hospital and 256th Combat Support Hospital, respectively. He also served nine years as an American Cancer Society Commission on Cancer Liaison Physician.
At Emory, Dr. Arciero's primary clinical locations are Emory University Hospital and Emory Johns Creek Hospital, where he focuses on breast surgery. His academic roles include being the program director of the Emory Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship. He is also serving as the Lead, Breast Surgical Oncology Group.
Dr. Arciero received his MD degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. His postgraduate medical training included a residency in surgery at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, a research fellowship at the Windber Research Institute, and a surgical oncology fellowship at the Fox Chase Cancer Center.
