Overview
Dr. Barry Warshaw completed his MD, Pediatrics residency, and chief residency at Emory University School of Medicine, followed by fellowship training in Pediatric Nephrology, Dialysis, and Kidney Transplantation at the Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles. An Emory faculty member since 1979, he is the founder of the Emory/Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta pediatric nephrology, dialysis, and transplant programs and served as the medical director of the Renal Transplant program at Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta for its inaugural 36 years, during which time he oversaw its growth from small startup to one of the countrys largest. He was the founding Program Director of the Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship Program at Emory and Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta in 2007, and has also served since then as the Chair of the Departmental Fellowship Program Directors Committee. In 2018, he was appointed as Vice Chair for Education for the Emory Department of Pediatrics. He practices personal wellness with distance jogging, having completed one marathon (New York, 1991) and 31 Peachtree Road Races, Atlantas annual celebratory July 4 10K run.
