GME Pride Affinity Group | Emory School of Medicine

Mission

The Emory Graduate Medical Education (GME) Pride Affinity group is an organization of medical trainees with the following core goals:

Make Emory a welcoming space for medical trainees who identify as LGBTQ+ or allies.
Partner with university employee resource groups (Emory Pride Employee Network), faculty, staff, and student affinity groups, especially Emory Medical Alliance (EMA) and the LGBTQ+ Faculty Affinity Group to hold events and engage in mentorship opportunities.
Seek to engage and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community within the Graduate Medical Education community, Emory University and greater Atlanta.

Additional Leadership

Additionally, GME Pride has four core officers as well as multiple committees. The officer positions include President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.

President: Dr. Elizabeth Chang
Vice President: Dr. Alexander Kaplan

These and other members of the leadership team can join and form committees depending on the needs of the organization. Currently, GME Pride has Advocacy, Social and Recruitment committees.

The staff liaison is the Assistant Director, Office of Multicultural Affairs, Learner Diversity Programs for Graduate Medical Education, gme_diversity@emory.edu.
