Jacqueline Harmon
Overview
Jacki Harmon is a senior associate faculty member and clinical coordinator of the undergraduate Medical Imaging Program. As a senior faculty member of the program, she has taught all aspects of medical imaging, from basic to advanced radiographic procedures and medical terminology to patient care and imaging safety, as well as pharmacology and evaluation and measurement. Jacki has served as clinical preceptor for the experiential components of the program from the clinical clerkship to the advanced clinical practicum.
She joined the Emory faculty in 2021 after nine years at Lanier Technical College beginning as an adjunct instructor in the Allied Health Division and advancing to clinical coordinator and instructor of radiologic technology. She developed and launched the CT imaging advanced modality training program for the college.
Her research focus has encompassed mentoring and leadership development in medical imaging, better/best practices in didactic instruction in higher education, and factors affecting student success. She has presented at national and regional conferences on these topics and has promoted lifelong learning and scholarship among radiologic technologists.
Jacki is active in several professional associations including the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and its city and state chapters, the Lambda Nu National Honor Society Sigma Theta (Georgia) Chapter, and the Association of Educators in Imaging and Radiologic Sciences (AEIRS). She is the current Chair of the Georgia Educators Association of Radiation and Medical Imaging (GEARMI) and has previously served on the Student Affairs Committee and the Scholarship Committee of the Georgia Society of Radiologic Technologists.
