How did you choose your Specialty?
Interest in blood disorders in children and interest in the long term care of children with chronic disease
What do you like MOST, and like LEAST, about your specialty?
Most: That most children want to still be active despite their limitations;
Least: the stigma/misperceptions that some have about patients with sickle cell disease
In your opinion, what attributes are important in anyone choosing this specialty?
Patience – understanding that the people handle diagnoses differently and therefore need different support- that the field continues to evolve and change which changes our approach
