Our faculty consist of clinical and basic science investigators who conduct a broad range of basic, translational and clinical research on a variety of human malignancies. Through novel discoveries, we are leading the way to a better understanding and improved detection and treatment of cancer.

The Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship Program offered by Emory University School of Medicine and Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University provides clinical and research training in hematology and medical oncology.

Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University is Georgia's only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center and serves as the coordinating center for cancer research, education and care throughout Emory University.

Upcoming Symposium

The Debates and Didactics in Hematology and Oncology Conference (DDHO) features a comprehensive review into mechanisms of disease and treatments for patients with cancer or blood disorders. Save the date! The 2025 conference will be held July 24-27, 2025 at Sea Island, Georgia. Registration to open in early 2025.

Emory surgeon pilots intuitive 3D modeling tool to improve surgery experience for lung cancer patients Jan. 30, 2025

Since November, Emory surgeons have been piloting new software that creates a three-dimensional digital image of a patient's lungs. Having access to a 3D model makes removing hard-to-reach cancerous cells more efficient and precise. Think of it as the first time a cartographer added mountains and canyons to the layout of a map—only in this case, that map leads straight to saving a patient's life.

The Rally Foundation helps get effective treatments to kids who ‘don’t have time to wait’ Dec. 18, 2024

Through advocacy and seed funding, the Rally Foundation is making a difference in pediatric oncology research. The foundation’s collaboration with Emory has included $2.5 million in research support.
