Bhavin Adhyaru (medicine) is the recipient of the prestigious Mark Silverman Award from the American College of Physicians. Bhavin was awarded for his demonstrated excellence in bedside skills and teaching, as well as his dedication to helping younger physicians advance their knowledge and training in medicine.

Modele Ogunniyi (medicine) received a National Forum Heart Healthy Stroke Free Award. The award recognizes her scientific and clinical leadership on social determinants of health, eliminating disparities in cardiovascular disease in women, and service as Co-Chair of the National Hypertension Control Roundtable.

Samantha Hill speaks at 2023 IDWeek

Samantha Hill (pediatrics) was an invited speaker at IDWeek in October for a Meet the Professors panel for If You Know You Know: HIV Care for Adolescents. The panel involved case-based discussions on nuances in treating adolescents and young adults for HIV care as well as HIV prevention.

Danielle Jones (medicine) has been named the 

APDIM Distinguished University Associate Program Director. This award recognizes an Associate Program Director or Core Faculty at a university-based program for outstanding contributions to the field of graduate medical education.

Randi Smith awarded $2 Million DOJ Grant to support violence prevention

Randi Smith (surgery) was awarded a $2 million Department of Justice (DOJ) Grant Award under the Office of Justice Programs Community Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative. This grant supports Dr. Smith’s work spearheading the Interrupting Violence in Youth and Young Adults (IVYY) program, a hospital-based violence intervention program at Grady Memorial Hospital. Kimberly Manning (medicine) has been named the Vice Chair of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Department of Medicine. In this role, Dr. Manning will promote a culture that values and supports diversity, equity, and inclusion within the department.

The National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering of the National Institutes of Health has awarded a $7.8 million grant over the next five years to the Atlanta Center for Microsystems Engineered Point-of-Care Technologies. Emory at Grady faculty prominently featured at National IDWeek 2023 

Emory at Grady faculty at IDWeek

IDWeek is an annual conference bringing together professionals of varying backgrounds with a common interest in Infectious Diseases (ID). This year's conference was in Boston, MA, where many Emory at Grady leaders played major roles. We especially want to recognize Igho Ofotokun (medicine), for being selected to deliver the prestigious John F. Enders Lecture, as well as Carlos del Rio (medicine), and Wendy Armstrong (medicine), for their role in leading and moderating the conference.

 

Apply now! Emory at Grady Clinical Research Mentoring Program  

Deadline to apply: Jan. 12

The Clinical Research Mentoring Program is a 4-month longitudinal course for Emory faculty based at Grady. This program will provide resources, information and tools to develop clinical research projects at Grady. The course will have didactic sessions paired with mentoring and networking. Participants will have the opportunity to be paired with experienced faculty as mentors, with the specific goal of working through some of the hurdles to getting started on clinical research projects.
