Dear Students, Staff and Faculty,

Like you, I was horrified to hear the news of yesterday’s shootings in the Atlanta area. While the specific circumstances of the incident remain under investigation, I want to express our concern and support for our students, faculty and staff who may be feeling targeted and unsafe. Our thoughts are also with the families who are directly affected by this tragedy.

I want to reiterate our statement on anti-Asian bias shared in May 2020. Sadly, incidents of anti-Asian discrimination and violence continue to increase. We remain committed to fighting systemic racism and promoting social justice.

Do not hesitate to reach out for additional support in light of this tragedy. A few of Emory’s support resources are listed below. Please continue to take care of yourselves and each other during these incredibly challenging times.
