Tonia Poteat, PhD, MMSc, PA-C, MPH: Excellence in HIV Care
After years as an AIDS activist and educator, I enrolled in Emory University’s Physician Assistant Program in 1993 so that I could provide direct care to people living with HIV.
Jeri Sumitani, MMSc, PA-C: Fighting Ebola on the Front Lines
When the Ebola outbreak reached a critical point in the summer of 2014, I asked to volunteer in West Africa. I ended up working at Connaught Hospital, the sole facility in Freetown to keep its doors open to Ebola and non-Ebola patients.
Jasmina Salcinovic-Spahic, DMSc, MMSc, MHA, PA-C, DFAAPA
Dr. Jasmina Salcinovic-Spahic was inspired to become a healthcare professional by her childhood in Bosnia before and during the war. She chose Emory's PA program after learning about the flexibility that being a PA would offer in terms of both specialties and work-life balance.
