Re:
CME Meeting
Thank you for
your interest in facilitating a continuing medical education activity with
the Emory University School of Medicine.
Emory's CME
Office is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical
Education (ACCME). We grant Category 1 credits to qualified educational
programs that facilitate the mission of the School of Medicine and adhere
to the ACCME Essential Areas and Standards. In addition we provide a full
spectrum of meeting planning services.
To facilitate the planning process, you will need the attached:
1. Guidelines for Joint Sponsorship.
This document delineates the necessary steps in the course approval process.
2. CME Activity Planning and Approval Form.
This form will initiate the planning and implementation of the CME activity.
It must be signed by the Departmental Chair.
3. Joint
Sponsor and OCME Responsibilities. This checklist identifies the tasks
to be performed and the responsible party.
4. Conflict of Interest Declaration.
The disclosure form to be completed by all participating faculty.
5. Letter
of Agreement.
This form serves as a formal agreement between Emory University, the joint
sponsor and any proprietary entities providing financial support for the
CME activity. The Spirit of the
ACCME Standards for Commercial Support further explains this
relationship.
Once you have reviewed the attached documents, please call to schedule
an initial planning meeting to discuss in greater detail. Contact me at
404-727-1626 or via email at mboone2@emory.edu.
I
look forward to working with you on this important CME activity.
