Viraj Master Named Winship Director of Integrative Oncology & Survivorship

Viraj Master, MD, PhD, has been named director of integrative oncology and survivorship at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. In this new role, he will collaboratively develop and implement a vision for innovative programs in translational research, quality, patient safety, and cancer care delivery at Winship.
Dr. Master is considered a national expert in the surgical treatment of kidney cancer and prostate cancer. As the director of clinical research for the Emory Department of Urology, he is actively investigating both the role of inflammation in cancers and patient interaction with the disease. He has lectured both nationally and internationally; is closely involved in teaching and mentoring medical students, urology residents, and post-graduate fellows; and has authored more than 150 scientific journal articles and multiple book chapters.
