Aaron Weiss, MD, was recognized as a Hidden Gem during Faculty Recognitions Week in the Emory University School of Medicine, October 8-October 12. These faculty members are nominated by their departments in recognition of their outstanding, but often unnoticed or unrecognized, contributions to Emory or beyond. In the words of Martin Sanda, MD, Emory Urology Department Chair:
"Dr. Weiss joined the Department of Urology in 2016 after having completed his urology residency at Emory. He took on the difficult task of establishing an Emory Urology Service at Emory Johns Creek Hospital, which had never had Emory Urology participation prior to that time. With exceptional poise and unassuming effectiveness, Dr. Weiss steadily engaged the full spectrum of colleagues and staff at John's Creek, and established a full-time urology service that offered all-week coverage capacity in less than one year. Under his leadership, two additional urology faculty were recruited to join the Emory Urology Service at EJCH in 2017."
"In summary, his contributions to program-building and clinical service have been exceptional, and he exhibits the utmost in poise and professionalism and collaborative effectiveness, characteristics for any faculty member to emulate."
