The following list of procedure types and services includes links to detailed and comprehensive information on either the Emory Healthcare or the Winship Cancer Institute websites.
Minimally Invasive Treatments
Quicker recovery times, magnified visualization by the surgeon using scopes and video, less pain medication, and smaller incisions and scars are just some of the many advantages of minimally invasive surgery, which includes such procedures as robotic prostactectomy and laparoscopic stone surgery.
Cancer Treatments
Emory Urology faculty physicians treat the spectrum of male and female urological cancer and tumor conditions using the most advanced treatment therapies available.
Our program also sponsors a Bladder Cancer Peer Support Group, which is available to patients on the fourth Thursday of every month. In addition to peer support, each meeting features experts speaking on such topics as urostomy care and nutrition. Please see the flyer for more information.
Kidney Stone Treatments
If kidney stones do not pass on their own, Emory Urology physicians can intervene with such procedures as extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, ureteroscopy, percutaneous nephrostolithotomy, or other interventions.
Female Urology Treatments
Emory Urology provides treatments for a variety of conditions affecting women, including urethral diverticulum, pelvic prolapse, and pelvic floor disorders. Non-operative therapies and minimally invasive procedures to treat vaginal prolapse, urinary incontinence, and overactive bladder are also available.
Men's Health Treatments
Emory Urology's Men's Health program provides vasectomy and vasectomy reversal services along with treatments for erectile dysfunction, enlarged prostate, elevated PSA, low testosterone, male factor infertility, variocele, and Peyronie's disease. Procedures include transurethral resection of the prostate, penile implants, Holmium laser enucleation of prostate (HoLEP), and many more.
