Health Science Specialist
Xiaoxu Zheng is focused on managing research projects within the Atlanta VA, initiating new clinical research projects and grants, and building an AI-powered cancer research infrastructure system. He is especially interested in AI-powered digital pathology for aiding diagnostics and treatment of diseases as well as AI applications for mining electronic health records for health recommendations.
Prior to joining the team, he served as an assistant research professor at Georgia State University and The George Washington University.
Dr. Zheng earned a bachelor of medicine degree and a PhD in pathophysiology from Peking University in Beijing, China. He then earned a master's degree in computer science from Georgia Institute of Technology. He completed post-doctoral fellowships with the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and the Johns Hopkins University.
