Doctoral Student
Shayan Monabbati's professional interests include machine learning, image processing, statistical analysis, learning over multi-omics data, and survival analysis. He currently is focused on developing a model for automated diagnosis of biliary tract adenocarcinomas using digitized cytology samples, as well as risk stratification of tumor recurrence and death in papillary thyroid carcinomas. He also is working on analyzing the association between pathomic and genomic tumor heterogeneity in oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma.
Shayan earned his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from York University in Toronto, Canada. He currently is working toward a PhD in systems & control engineering at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
