Visiting Fellow
Gourav Modanwal is a visiting fellow with expertise in medical imaging analysis, machine learning, and cardiovascular disease computer-aided diagnosis and prognosis. With the Madabhushi Lab, he is specifically focused on three projects: machine learning analysis of coronary artery and perivascular fat on coronary CT for MACE risk prediction; a novel radiomics method to diagnose patients with hepatic steatosis using CT; and deep-learning-based hepatic fat assessment on non-contrast chest CT and its association with disease severity in COVID-19 infections.
Dr. Modanwal previously served as a senior research associate at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio as well as a visiting researcher at University Hospitals and Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland. He also served as a research associate at Duke University in Durham, NC.
Dr. Modanwal earned his PhD in human computer interaction from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) after earning a masters degree in communication engineering from the Indian Institute of Information Technology and an undergraduate degree in electronics and communication engineering (with honors) from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (State Technological University of Madhya Pradesh).
