Embracing the tenets of accessible science, the hive mind, and shared innovation, the AI Bias Datathon offers the exciting opportunity to become part of the solution: to investigate health disparities devastating marginalized communities, root out the sources of bias in medical imaging AI, and craft more equitable approaches to medical imaging processing. Join us as we harness machine learning and artificial intelligence to challenge bias in medical imaging.

Take a deep dive into navigating health datasets, developing code, and the fundamentals of model development and evaluation with experts from around the world.

Symposium August 23 | 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The full-day symposium focuses on successfully advocating for health equity and bias mitigation in medical imaging. Hear from those doing the work and making a difference.

Reception and Celebration August 23 | 5:30 to 8 p.m.

A festive evening of delicious food, drinks, and entertainment that's not to be missed. Network, socialize, and dance!

Datathon August 24-25 | 8 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Participants are assigned to diverse teams, each with a set of questions to answer using a real-world medical imaging dataset. Final presentations are judged and winners take home prizes!

Enjoy the lush landscape and state-of-the-art buildings of the Emory University Clifton Campus. Conveniently located in the city of Atlanta's historic Druid Hills neighborhood, Emory offers big-city amenities in a suburban setting. After hours, visit nearby restaurants and shops or catch a bus to one of Atlanta's many attractions.

Activities will take place in the James B. Williams Medical Education Building, the Woodruff Health Sciences Administration Building, and the Michael C. Carlos Museum. Out of town participants can enjoy accommodations right on campus.
