Education is a top priority in the Emory University School of Medicine's Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences. Being one of the largest academic radiology departments in the country allows us to have access to large numbers of patients; cutting-edge technology; and some of the best and brightest students, trainees, and faculty. We are very proud of the friendly atmosphere in which we practice and learn, an atmosphere in which everyone feels like a "family": we provide an educational environment that offers exceptional opportunities to learn as well as a team you will enjoy working with.
Emory has very diverse and quite complementary venues in which to learn and practice radiology. The number and breadth of cases are exceptional. Our trainees routinely are involved with the health care of patients at Emory University Hospital (where our residency program is centered), and (listed alphabetically) Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, The Emory Clinic, Emory University Hospital Midtown, and Grady Memorial Hospital. I believe that we offer an outstanding combination of hands-on learning and organized teaching.
Our programs provide excellent opportunities for trainees to teach, do research, and engage in stimulating academic endeavors. In addition, we have significant involvement with our School of Medicine: several courses and clerkships either are run by or prominently feature Emory Radiology faculty members. These also offer opportunities for resident involvement.
Emory Radiology has a long history of excellence regarding our educational programs but we do not rest on those laurels. We constantly are looking for ways to improve, innovate, lead, and develop. Hopefully, you will want to join us!
