Why Tracks?

In addition to outstanding clinical training in all aspects of diagnostic radiology, residents also can choose to pursue one of the following tracks to advance their professional training in ways that support their career goals. Residents themselves have conceived and created many of the tracks through the Adopt-A-Resident program, and the tracks in turn encourage resident-led innovation via capstone projects.

Radiology Residency Tracks

Clinical Educator Track

The Clinical Educator Track provides residents with intensive training in teaching, mentoring, and academic research in preparation for careers in academic medicine.

The Global Health Track comprises lectures, discussions, and projects that cultivate cultural humility while promoting clinical and teaching excellence. Participants then work in collaborative, interdisciplinary teams in resource-limited communities.

Imaging Informatics Track

The hands-on approach to developing and deploying robust imaging informatics systems means residents complete a variety of projects including a capstone project that could land them in the Shark Tank.

Molecular Imaging in Medicine Track

This track integrates nuclear medicine training with diagnostic radiology residency resulting in dual board eligibility/certification. The program includes both clinical and research training to prepare scientists to practice and advance molecular imaging medicine.

Quality Improvement & Innovations Track

The QI Track prepares residents to successfully lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives and qualifies them for a number of special certifications.

Research Track
