Welcome to the Emory Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program website, where you can find all the information you need about our award-winning program and our residents.
I recently was asked by the editors of Aunt Minnie, which named our program Best Radiologist Training Program for the second time (the first in 2021), "What makes the Emory Radiology Residency Program so special?"
The short answer is our unwavering commitment to personalized education. We understand each resident has unique aspirations and career goals. That's why we augment our comprehensive curriculum with a variety of innovative tracks so residents can gain additional experience and training consonant with their interests. These tracks include Research, Clinical Educator, Molecular Imaging in Medicine, Global Health, Quality Improvement and Innovation, and Imaging Informatics.
Our program also boasts a dedicated team of faculty, staff, and leaders who are eager to provide guidance, share their expertise, and support residents every step of the way. Ours is a collegial learning environment conducive to forming strong relationships with faculty mentors and fostering synergy for an amazing learning experience. Our aim is to create an environment that not only supports resident well-being but also provides ample opportunities for you to expand your abilities, explore new avenues, and gain the necessary experience to thrive in your career. As a graduate of this training program myself, I can personally attest to the transformative experiences and the strong sense of camaraderie within our resident community.
At Emory, we take immense pride in the diversity of our residents, who come from a variety of backgrounds and corners of the world. Our residents are hard-working, self-motivated, and exceptional individuals who are the forefront of cutting-edge research and will be noteworthy future leaders in radiology.
Of course, our residents learn how to care for a highly diverse patient population across a wide range of clinical training sites. Not only do they train in tertiary care hospitals in both urban and suburban areas of metro Atlanta, they also train in one of the nation's busiest public safety-net hospitals with a Level 1 trauma center, in the brand new Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Arthur M. Blank Hospital, and in the Joseph Maxwell Cleland Atlanta VA Medical Center. Some even gain experience working collaboratively with our partners in resource-limited locations both locally and globally. Our residents graduate well-prepared to thrive wherever they choose.
We seek enthusiastic, dedicated, and resilient doctors to join our program. As you consider your options for the next steps in your medical career journey, we hope you will consider joining us at Emory for an enriching and rewarding experience.
