The Division of Pediatric Imaging serves all locations of the nationally ranked Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and all neonatal intensive care units of Emory Healthcare and Grady Memorial Hospital. Our staff of radiologists annually reads more than 300,000 pediatric examinations from these covered hospitals plus eight outpatient immediate-care locations across metro Atlanta.
The Division of Pediatric Imaging covers general radiography, fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, bone densitometry, PET/CT, cardiac CT, and MR imaging while the divisions of Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology additionally provide coverage. The division also provides radiopharmaceutical therapy with I-131 for thyroid disease and I-131 MIBG for neuroblastoma.
The division utilizes the newest imaging technology sized for pediatric patients and utilizes specialized protocols designed to address the specific needs of children, including precise configuration to accurately diagnose clinical questions, minimize radiation exposure, and reduce the need for sedation.
The division actively trains the next generation of pediatric imaging specialists as part of the Diagnostic Radiology Residency program as well as three subspecialty fellowship programs.
